Eggless Chocolate Cake - Type 1


All Purpose Flour (Maida) -1 1/3 cup 
Powdered Sugar - 1 cup
Vegetable Oil - 1/2 cup
Cocoa Powder - 3 tbsps
Buttermilk - 3/4 to 1 cup
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
Baking Powder  - 1 tsp
Baking Soda - 1/4 tsp


  1. Sift together maida, coca powder and baking powder twice.
  2. Add cooking soda to buttermilk and keep aside
  3. Take oil and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl and beat well.
  4. Add vanilla essence and mix well.
  5. Now add sifted flour and buttermilk. Mix well.
  6. Grease a tin and dust it thoroughly.
  7. Pour the batter into the tin and bake at 180 degrees C for 30-40 mins.
  8. Place the tin on a wire rack and let it cool.
  9. Once cooled, carefully unmould and cut into desired shapes.
