Apple & Maida Burfi


Ingredients:

All Purpose Flour (Maida) - 1 cup
Milk - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Ghee - 1/2 cup
Apple - 1
Cinnamon Powder - 3/4 tsp
Cashew nuts - 10
Raisins - 10
Saffron Strands - 7 to 8 soaked in 1 tbsps hot milk


Method:


  1. Peel and grate apple.
  2. Grease a tray with some ghee. Keep aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix maida and milk together. There should be no lumps, so mix really well.
  4. Add sugar, ghee, cinnamon powder, saffron milk. Mix well.
  5. Now add grated apple, cashew nuts and raisins. Mix well.
  6. Now place the pan on medium flame and keep stirring continuously till it form a lump.
  7. When the mixture reaches a stage where it does not stick to the back of a clean spoon or a finger when touched, turn off the heat.
  8. Immediately transfer the mixture onto the greased tray and spread it evenly using a greased spatula.
  9. Let it cool down and then cut into desired shapes.
