Broccoli Stir Fry

Broccoli - 500 gms
Sesame/Til Seeds - 1 tbsp
Olive Oil - 2 tbsps
Ginger, minced - 1 tbsp
Garlic, minced - 1 tbsp
Peppercorns, crushed - 1 tsp
Soya Sauce - 2 tsps
Salt - a pinch

  1. Wash broccoli thoroughly and cut the florets into bite sized pieces. Strain out all the excess water.
  2. Heat a pan, dry roast sesame seeds until slightly brown. Transfer the sesame seeds into a bowl and keep aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan.
  4. Add minced ginger and garlic. Saute for 2 minutes to get rid of the raw smell.
  5. Now add broccoli pieces. Mix well and cook covered for 2 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle 2-3 tbsps of water, mix well and continue to cook until broccoli pieces are soft but firm and hold shape; must be al dente.
  7. Add soya sauce, salt and crushed peppercorns. Saute well.
  8. Sprinkle the roasted sesame seeds. Mix well. Turn off the heat.
  9. Serve hot.
